Goals
Implementing the right digital tools for the tourism sector
In spring 2021, the Picardie Verte Tourist Office issued a call for proposals for the creation of a website and the redesign of its visual identity. After reviewing various submissions, the Toclic Agency was selected to lead this project.
Several objectives and tasks were completed as the project progressed:
- Creation of a visual identity and its application across various media;
- Development of a website and an online store;
- Retrieval of information from the Tourinsoft information system.
The Picardie Verte Tourist Office teams sought a modern, accessible website compatible with mobile devices and aligned with current standards. The entire project was carried out over 8 months, from May 2021 to January 2022.
Strategy
Create a website with custom development
As soon as the project was launched, the project manager established a roadmap outlining the tasks for all stakeholders to develop the project over the course of 8 months. Weekly meetings were held to discuss the project, present progress, and resolve issues as they arose.
The first phase of the mission focused on defining the visual identity of the tourist office. Several working sessions were conducted with the teams and socio-professionals to create an identity that aligns with the values of the region.
The second phase involved developing a custom module to retrieve data from the Tourinsoft tourism information system. This included implementing several configurable templates, custom fields, search tools, and an interactive map. Development took place in the fall of 2021. As the demo environment progressed, we integrated various content (images and text), optimizing it for SEO best practices. The final phase in January 2022 included user acceptance testing, bug fixes, SEO optimization, and system testing.
Once all elements were finalized, we successfully launched the website for the Picardie Verte Tourist Office.
